Marcus Woolcott has always had a love for character design, and this was reinforced by his six years of living in Tokyo (Hello Kitty is kinda big there, if you hadn’t noticed). So you might notice there is a heavy Japanese influence to the characters he creates. He also goes back to the simple graphic drawings he did as a kid for inspiration. “Simplicity is almost always cuter than complexity.” Marcus keeps his characters as simple as possible, while still capturing the essence of the creatures they’re representing.
